General assistant at Michaelhouse Cafe This is a permanent full-time job at the most delicious caf in Cambridge. We are looking for an additional team member for Michaelhouse caf starting as soon as possible. We want someone who likes good food enjoys dealing with customers and other members of staff and is prepared to work hard. We serve fresh home-made food in a friendly and efficient way in a beautiful space in the very centre of Cambridge. We want you to help us to that. We will require you to Serve on the counter Wash up Help prepare food in the kitchen Do cleaning Generally assist with whatever needs doing Additionally if you stay with us for a significant period of time we hope to have the opportunity to train you on the baking shift (making bread scones little pizzas quiches) and the cake shift (making cakes and tarts) once you were confident on the basic areas. Pay Starting rate £6 per hour going up to £6.30 after initial training and minimum 3 months work. You are paid monthly by cheque or direct into your bank account on the last Friday of the month. Hours normally approximately 40 hours per week sometimes more if there are private parties. Most regular shifts start and finish between 6.30am and 6pm. However you will also be required to work in the evenings sometimes. You will normally be expected to work on Saturdays and bank holidays and you may sometimes be required to work on Sundays. You are paid for lunchbreaks and can have whatever you want to eat when you are on a shift.
